Windsor Park

The house has a transparent entrance to allow glimpses of the stunning view of the landscaped garden and lake. The glazed bridge and entrance divide the house into two main volumes, ‘Family’ and ‘Public’. The volumes change from single storey at the entrance into double height as they open towards the landscape. Both buildings and their functions are identified by variations in the envelope but are focused around a central dramatic feature, the glass staircase and lift. The external faade manipulates modern technology with a combination of liquid gels and stone veneer laminates to provide varying degrees of translucency, solar control, privacy and interface with the natural setting.
